Hot Melt Applicators
Hot melt applicator is used for the application of adhesives and
thermoplastic materials. Most of the industrial hot melt applicators possess
tank capacity of 5 kg to 100 kg to cater to all types of applications. They
have built-in microprocessor-based system with unique features. They are
provided with various modules and combinations of guns. They have coating
heads for uniform adhesive coating.
The hot melt applicators are used in a number of industrial applications,
including the filter machine manufacturing industry. They are used for pleat
edge sealing of various filter media. Thus they constitute an important
portion in this industry.
The programming and operation of the hot-melt applicators are easy, precise
and user friendly. The technological use has been upgraded continuously in
the working of the hot melt applicators. It has been used to construct the
electronic card in order to ensure a reliable and lasting performance. Some
of their common features are:
- Setting of parameters is simple and manageable.
- Efficient pump system for a continuous steady flow of adhesive
- No nozzle clogging
- It can be integrated in various positions to the parent machine
What is Hot Melt?
Hot melts are adhesive, which are used for binding, seaming or other
similar processes. They require heat for application. They are generally
made from thermoplastic polymers and plastics. Though they are solid in
state but may be melted by heat. On heating they produce a molten skin that
is layered over the entire surface area of any material. As they cool, they
create increased stiffness for added power.
Hot melts do not contain water or any solvent, and is used such that it is
melted by application of heat. It is applied onto an object surface, and is
then cooled to room temperature to be solidified. Hot melt can be applied by
extrusion, spraying, a roll coater, dipping.
Applications of Hot Melt Applicator
The hot melt adhesives are used in a large number of industries. Their
service and applications include wide areas such as:
- Filter Manufacturing Industry
- Automotive Industry
- Chemical Industry
- Electronic Industry
- Flexible Packaging Industry
- Paper Industry
- Foil Manufacturing
