Paper Cutter

Pleated paper cutters are a type of paper cutters, which are used mostly in the filter machine manufacturing industry. They are used to cut or trim the pleated filter sheets, either individually or in stack. Their main function is to modify the filter sheets according to the various specified needs of different machines.

Uses of Paper Cutters
Apart from their use in filter industry, they are also used at numerous other places, in most businesses, educational institutions, and photo shops. They are used by another name as "paper trimmer". It is designed to cut small to moderate amounts of paper. However the paper cutters are designed to cut moderate to large volumes of paper.

Types of Paper Cutters/Trimmers:

• Stack Cutters: These cutters are perfect for cutting through large stacks of paper. Usually they have a ruler and a guide to help achieve the desired cut. They also have a clamp to fix the paper in place to avoid tearing.
  
  
• Rotary Paper Cutters: Rotary paper cutters use a round cutting blade, which slides along a rail and can cut in either direction. They are mainly designed for graphic artists and photographers due to the clean accurate cut.
  
  
• Guillotine Paper Cutters: They are used for precision cutting. They usually have a ruler, a guide, and a grid pattern to ensure that the cuts are straight. They have a large blade that can cut up to about ten sheets of paper, cardboard and textiles.
  
  
• Arm Cutters: They are the most common type of cutters designed for everyday use. Usually they have a ruler, a guide and a large bladed arm. These cutters are perfect for scrap booking, school, and office use.

The paper cutters come in various models depending on their working.

• Manual: Manual paper cutters are the least expensive and suitable for smaller volumes of cutting.
  
  
• Semi-automatic: The semi-automatic paper cutters come in-between the manual and fully automatic. Some of their features such as the cutting mechanism are automatic, while others need to be done by hand.
  
  
• Automatic: The automatic paper cutters are completely automated and are suitable for large cutting jobs. Some are programmable and allow you to store commonly used settings.
